Field Day Assignment numero uno

Part 1 Critical Thinking Evaluation:
1.    Is he/she open to new views that oppose his own?  She seemed to be pretty strong with her opinion and knew how to back it up.
2.     Does she take the time to answer each question?  Yes she does and gave each one serious thought.
3.     Do her views sometimes go out of proportion when she is being proved wrong?  No she knew how to back up her argument.
4.     Does she get her views from family members or what she has really been taught?  I’ve know Brooke for a while and I feel like this is her own opinion rather than her parents.
5.      Does she change her views when she has been proven wrong?  No she sticks to what she believes.
6.     During the conversation did she talk or listen more?  She talked more, but she didn’t ever mumble on or start talking about random things.
7.    Was she able to accept criticism?  Yes she does and waits for her opportunity to rebuttal.
8..    Does she stay away from stereotyping?  Yes
9.    She is calm while discussing this topic. Yes
D    Does she base her answers off of religious views?  No
OPart 2 Interview with my friend Brooke Carpenter:
Eric Barbato: Do you believe that the media should be censored? Or stay the way it is?
Brooke Carpenter: I believe the media should stay the way it is, because although the media is infamous for blowing things out of proportion they serve a good purpose in giving us popular news fast.  If we were to censor the media it would be like putting a child lock on what is really going on, which society has a right to know.  The media has strong information on how people get information and it is up to society to decide which information they will take to heart or with a grain of salt.
(EB): What would you say to people who think the media has a bad influence on our kids and how it sometimes exposes them to things they aren’t allowed to see or know?
(BC):  I think that it is the parent’s job to protect to a certain extent but also explain the media to their kids and how yes bad things may happen and we need to be aware of these things instead of being naïve to them.
(EB):  Do you think the government should regulate what the media is showing?
(BC):  I think that to a certain extent the government does regulate what we are allowed to access to and what they don’t elaborate on.  It is important to realize that although the media is our most significant source of knowing what is going on in society that we need to understand that bias exists and nowadays anyone can report anything through the use of technology.  The media has a relationship with the people they get their information from and in this case the government.  If the media begins to back and scrutinize the government beyond criticism they will no longer have access to that information because of what they are known to produce.  Government regulates enough if anything, more is censored, it might as well be 1984.
Part 3:
For me critical thinking is a lot easier for me to write in works. I’m not to expressive when I talk which some people think is pathetic, but I believe I am just as an effective critical thinking as they are.  Going into deep critical thinking takes awhile to get in that certain state of mind.  I am unable to do it with a bunch of distractions or people talking around me, since I believe I am a better listener than a talker.  This is why I seem to be better at writing out my critical thinking rather than speaking it.  I like to pick things apart because it is a lot easier for me to get organized and be more confident when I’m writing it out. Also the more I read about something allows me to get out more ideas onto paper.

HEYY...

Alright well I'm going to just write a few things about myself because I'm a little confused of when everything is due or what the field assignment is about so I guess I'll just do an intro so I have at least one blog...Hi my name is Eric Barbato, I am 20 years old from Granada Hills.  This is my first year at Moorpark College, I transferred from Cuesta College in SLO. I loveeeeed slo...alot of new friends and awesome parties.  Just hated the school. All my teachers seemed retarded and just read off power points or just didn't go to school.  Which was sometimes nice, but didn't show to well on my grades and I'm trying to get the hell out JC asap! I guess I enjoy MC though...mostly all my teachers are great and I'm having a good time on the baseball team, just living at home is a drap rather than living in the dorms with 10 other baseball players. I also work as a host at CPK which is a decent job, but it kinda made me hate people (those of you who work in the restaurant business know what I'm talking about).  If I could improve one thing about myself it would be to make me more patient.  I HATEEEE waiting in lines or traffic and even waiting for people to respond to like an important text or email. Idk why it just makes me feel really ancy! Ok well to wrap this up I love music, sports, and partying with friends, family, and the occasional randoms.  Which leads me to my favorite quote, "Sorry for partying"- some drunk guy.
